Half of the UT system students graduate debt free, thanks in part to the UT Promise – a scholarship that assists with covering tuition and mandatory fees for qualifying Tennessee residents. UT Promise is a last-dollar scholarship that assists with covering tuition and mandatory feeds for eligible Tennessee residents.

New Survey Shows Tennesseans’ Confidence in UT, Value of Higher Education on the Rise

New statewide research shows Tennesseans’ confidence in the University of Tennessee and the value of higher education is on the rise. The 2026 survey found 82% of respondents have a positive opinion of UT, while 72% agree that a four-year degree from a Tennessee public college or university is worth the investment.
